As part of the admissions process, applicants may be asked to complete a cognitive assessment to help determine whether Luminary International School is the best fit for their learning needs. We use the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V), administered by a licensed psychologist, to evaluate a student's cognitive abilities and gifted potential. Assessment results are considered alongside academic records, interviews, and other admissions criteria to provide a well-rounded evaluation of each applicant.

Applicants must complete the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Fifth Edition (WISC-V) administered by a licensed psychologist. The assessment provides a comprehensive evaluation of a child's cognitive abilities and helps determine whether the student demonstrates characteristics consistent with giftedness. Parents are responsible for arranging the assessment through a qualified psychologist and submitting the official report as part of the admissions process.

Families who are interested in learning more about their child's cognitive abilities or determining whether their child may qualify as gifted may choose to have their child complete the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Fifth Edition (WISC-V). The WISC-V is a comprehensive cognitive assessment designed for children ages 6 to 16 and is widely recognized as one of the leading tools for identifying gifted learners. The assessment must be administered by a licensed psychologist and cannot be self-administered. While Luminary International School may recommend qualified professionals, parents are welcome to arrange testing independently through any licensed psychologist or approved assessment center. If completed outside of the school, parents may submit the official evaluation report as part of the admissions process or for educational planning purposes.
